Based in Cornwall, I work across drawing, printmaking and installation. My practice considers how personal experience is shaped by institutional, historical and cultural frameworks. Rooted in autoethnography, my work considers experiences of illness, vulnerability, trauma and grief alongside systems and structures embedded with control, surveillance and power.
My practice explores the limitations of language and visual systems in fully articulating trauma and subjectivity, considering how alternative forms of knowledge—such as relational, material, lived and embodied knowledges—might emerge through my processes.
Driven by material experimentation, I explore the entanglement of play and vulnerability, order and disorder. My work often incorporates found or discarded materials, drawing on sources including hospital records, microscopy, landscape and embodied memory.
I invite reflection on the complexities of mental health, trauma and vulnerable experience, aiming to create space to expand understandings of illness. I am interested in the intersection of art and medicine, exploring the many subjective facets of health and contributing to the field of medical humanities.
Alongside my studio practice, I enjoy contributing to CAST’s socially engaged projects, particularly the Saturday Club, educational programme and summer workshops. I am interested in collaborating with communities to encourage creativity, play and making.
